This festive season, we’re returning to a world made entirely of felt. Introducing “Gifts That Go the Distance”, our Holiday 2026 campaign: a handmade series in three parts, crafted frame by frame by Prague-based stop-motion studio So Daze. Every character, landscape and scene was crafted by hand, and animated using traditional stop-motion techniques.
Artist Alina Golovlova and her team return to the world we created together last festive season. This time, each character has a world of their own, as our friends travel across the Scottish Highlands to celebrate Christmas at our Edinburgh Townhouse. It’s a story about the journeys we make to be together, and the gifts we carry with us. Each film features a Strathberry bag: the Corda Bucket, the Kite Hobo and the Mosaic Nano.
Creating this miniature Scotland took around two and a half months of fabrication. Felt artist Dasha Matesha worked to handcraft every character, landscape and prop, from snow-dusted lochs to the streets of Edinburgh. Filming took another 14 days, which brought fabrication and filming to an estimated 900 to 1,100 hours before post-production started.
The three films are made up of 2,880 individually photographed frames, each one animated by hand without the use of AI. Director Alina Golovlova led a core team of three, alongside lead animator Marek Jasaň and Dasha. Seven specialists supported them, including animators, a storyboard artist, a compositor, a retoucher and a set dresser, working across five countries.
Some moments were especially intricate. The opening of Badger’s film features a sea made entirely of wool, with individual strands animated frame by frame to create the movement of gently flowing water.
“At a time when we’re surrounded by so much AI-generated imagery, we wanted these films to feel as tactile and real as possible,” says Alina. “Every character, every landscape and every tiny movement was created by hand.”
It’s the same patience and care that goes into every Strathberry bag.
